2009-2010 Dance Studio Accomplishments
To The Pointe dances were Performed at Oconomowoc Festival of Arts, Delafield Art Walk, Showcase of the Arts at Steinhafel’s in Waukesha, Performer’s Showcase at Summer Stage in Lapham Peak Delafield, Kids Fest in Hartland, Community Fest at Kettle Moraine High School.
To The Pointe was invited to participate in the Orange Bowl Halftime Show in January 2008. Eleven dancers were chosen and spent four days in the Miami area working with choreographer Shane Sparks and performing to Sharp Dressed Man with ZZ Top.
To The Pointe has increased involvement with Cultural Alliance of Greater Milwaukee and Creative Arts Coalition, raising awareness of artistic climate in western Waukesha County.
To The Pointe introduced a new theatre program in Hartland and Johnson Creek.
Nina Gaydos-Fedak, director of To The Pointe, was elected to the boards of Arts Waukesha, a grant funding organization working with Arts Wisconsin and UPAF, and Pewaukee Area Arts Council (PAAC)
To The Pointe was asked to be on two fine arts commissions to integrate fine and performing arts into the schools
To The Pointe was asked to teach at the Tyme Out center, Lake Country schools and summer programs, Good Times summer camp, recreation center dance programs at Brookfield, Hartland, Sussex, and Johnson Creek.
To The Pointe was asked to manage and teach the Chief's Cheer and Dance Teams.
To The Pointe has donated over $15,000 in time, talent and gifts in the past year to the lake country and greater Milwaukee areas communities.
To The Pointe was a key player in bringing Project: DANCE to the greater Milwaukee area in January 2010 featuring Cedric Gardner, Joshua Allen, and Katee Shean. Project: Dance is committed to bringing well-known dancers and choreographers, teaching quality dance, to regional areas that are not fully served by the major conventions and organizations.
To the Pointe introduced a ground-breaking new program structure in the dance industry using rotational basis classes and more targeted teaching techniques.
Benefits, discounts, and rewards were increased – part of To The Pointe’s continuing effort to give back to the community and say “Thanks” for being part of our family.
